Thoroughly modern Marycrest
The south wing of Marycrest received a major overhaul this summer in the first phase of renovations planned for the University’s older residence halls.
Much of the effort in Marycrest was spent in renovating the infrastructure, including running a steam pipe from the Humanities Center to the building, replumbing the bathrooms and improving the heating and air circulation.
But students who began moving into Marycrest today will find plenty of visible improvements: refinished wardrobes, new wainscoting covering the salmon pink tiles in the hallways, more personal space in the bathrooms, new lounges, overhead lighting, carpeting and desk chairs, and best of all ... the promise of air conditioning.
